Happy Chinese New Year

Looking forward to Chinese New Year?? well, i guess so, because mainly i'm rotting and bored at home, going outstation and meeting up with relatives would be a nice little change. lol. but then when it really comes, i kinda lose all the hype and vibes of the festive season. haha. let's hope i don't feel that way this year.

im looking forward to

1. angpows. definitely!! because i really need the money urgently!!! im kinda broke already. HAHA!
2. steamboat. we have it every New Year's Eve, and the soup my grandma makes is so scrumptious!!! besides, i love steamboat, yummy yummy!! =)
3. prawn crackers and "acah". this year, my mother made the prawn crackers, and i can proudly say, it's on the same level with my grandma's style. ~teehee. and of course, "acah" is like mixed vegetables with grounded peanuts. awesome!!
4. "nga ku" err, i think it's called arrow-headed something.
5. basically, i look forward to all the food. gahahahaah!! XD

a tale of two friends

Look at this picture, dated December 5th, 1995. It's actually from The Star newspaper, education part. 14 years already, yellow, fragile, and abit torn, but the friendship between me and this girl is still going on.

yes, it's me and Ee Lyz. It was taken during orientation day, if i'm not mistaken, in Lick Hung. we were playing that game, that "set set set bom bom bom" thingy, sounds funny right! XD and then dunno what happened, a photographer took our picture, and we were like kinda stunned. HAHA! so cute right both of us. XD

in fact, i've known Ee Lyz since kindergarten, we were in the same class for 2 years. then, we car pooled for the additional Mandarin class in the morning. i remember whenever her dad drove us, we would go though this lane of road where there would be a huge bump, and he asked us to close our eyes, and said that the car was flying or something, it was so funny. lol.

after kindergarten, we went to Lick Hung, coincidentally, we were in the same class again for 3 years then they killed off our class and we separated. after primary school, we attended the same high school, HAHA! and afterward we got into the same college. but then, now, university different -lah.

it's amazing how both of us have such fate and destiny. and when we were younger, some of our friends thought we were sisters, because we have the same surname, and we kinda look alike abit. HAHA! it's kinda bizarre, she is like the oldest friend i have. i had so much fun knowing her and all, and i hope our friendship would always stay the same forever!!! =)

** and btw, im so happy because Amy Adams received her 2nd Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress for the movie Doubt!!! ~weeee it's kinda like her 3rd though, because the songs she sang in Enchanted got nominated for Best Original Song last year. haha. =) and it increases my anticipation of watching Doubt, because all 4 of the casts got nominated, awesome!!

ohya!!! and this song. "Flightless Bird, American Mouth" by Iron and Wine from the Twilight soundtrack. this song is so dreamy, it's quite mesmerizing, and the lyrics are so randomly made. lol. =)

so have you guys listened to Kelly Clarkson's new song, "My Life Would Suck Without You"? or erm, James Morrison's "You Make It Real"? im having kinda mixed feelings for Kelly's new song, would it be a hit? but most importantly, i hope her new album is gonna be awesome, since she worked with OneRepublic's lead singer, Ryan Tedder on it. lol. and i totally love James Morrison's new song, it feels authentic, simple, and the lyrics is really good. definitely getting his album. bwahaahahah!!!

i felt a sudden sharp pain at my stomach in the car.

i quickly dashed to the toilet upon reaching my house.

the pain was gradually getting worst. it turned greater and greater.

my limbs were turning cold.

my vision blurred.

i bended down to reduce the pain, but to no avail.

i increased my grip on my abdomen, hoping to take the pain away.

sweat started pouring down my forehead,

like raindrops, they fell to the floor, "ti ti ti".

i was soaked wet in my own sweat.

i was so afraid i would faint in pain.

i was in great agony that i feared about what was to happen.

once, i nearly fainted in the toilet, luckily to be rescued by my own knowledge of first aid emergencies.

i have really bad stomach flu that would attack abruptly sometimes. sigh.

how i love for my monitor to come back to me. ishhh. i really need it because i have lots of stuff to download!! *grabs head and screams* why can't the repairment process be faster! it's 3 weeks already!! *angry fumes coming out of head* as how am i blogging? through my dad's laptop, but it's quite inconvenient. urghhh!!

another thing, OMGwad, Amy Adams was just so gorgeous and stunning at the Golden Globe 2009, she just took my breathe away, breathtaking! and i apparently went goo-goo-ga-ga. *bonkers already* *screams and faints* im sure i wasn't the only one feeling that way, she was totally the belle of the ball on the red carpet, definitely the best looking!

*sighs dreamily* i'm in love with her. not to say im les, im straight, no turning, no nothing. and she is the hottest star now, up and rising, and still going hotter. =)

ohyah, this is such a random thing. a really long time ago, i sat the Space Shot in Genting for the 1st time, and then the 1st time it went down abruptly, i opened my mouth and tried to scream, but nothing came out... so i was like... =O *ahhhhh* my mouth big big, but no sound, then i decided to close my mouth -lah. LOL! i always wonder if i would ever have the guts to sit the second time again. haha.

for the past 6 months, i've been experiencing abit the "back to the past" feeling. why? because i want to indulge and devour the taste of freedom before i embark on my hectic 5 years of university. lol. yeah, watched several movies that made me feel happy. i realized i am really a TV addict, or more precisely, movie addict. i love watching movies! there's like a magical thing in it. HAHA!

so erm, i've been enjoying

1. Mary Poppins! yeah.
2. Anastasia! erm, you know? that nice animated musical movie. my guilty pleasure.
3. Spirited Away. the awesome Japanese animation.
4. Princess Diaries! hilarious.
5. Princess Diaries 2: The Royal Engagement. since i watched the 1st one, i must watch the 2nd one right! =P
6. Titanic! great classic movie!
7. Princess Returning Pearl 1 and 2. that popular Taiwan/China "Huan Zhu Gege" long time ago.

yeah, that's pretty much, but im looking forward to more!!! =) even if i have to work my ass off this year, im still gonna grab time to watch and watch and watch!

and then i've been thinking, what was it exactly like for me last year?

it was a joy ride. exhilarating. enjoyable. a pain in the ass on some days. or there was the i-felt-like-dying days. working hard for exams. tears-keep-pouring-down days. feeling-crazy-and-happy days. and my freedom. =)

im so bored and i can't wait to meet up with Shan Miao and the rest! *muacks* =)

Mary Poppins

i'm very definite that everybody who's going through my blog has watched Mary Poppins (1964) right? you did right? right? i watched it when i was very little, because i vaguely remember, though a few bits and pieces i still can recall. and i like Julie Andrews so much, her voice especially.

new year resolutions? i've doubt i'd ever did one before. promises, so easy to make yet it's fragile, hard to keep, and easily breakable. but what i really wanna do?

1. watch as many movies as possible. this, i must accomplish!
2. make sure everything goes really well as i start my university year.
3. drive with confidence! haha.
4. make my pimples disappear! i seem to be going through the 2nd stage of puberty. blah. =.="
5. can't think of one no more. lol.

besides that, it's time to recap what great movies (top 5) i've watched during 2008

1. Batman: The Dark Knight (awesome, partly thanks to Heath Ledger)
2. Wall-E (definitely the best animated feature)
3. Get Smart (hilarious)
4. Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (brilliant performance by Johnny Depp)
5. Definitely, Maybe (a love story that suits my taste)

and then, there are movies i wanna catch this year!!!

1. Rachel Getting Married (stunning performance by Anne Hathaway, i've heard)
2. Doubt (amazing casts - Meryl Streep, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, and of course Amy Adams)
3. Slumdog Millionaire (i love watching those small indie movies that suddenly turned huge)
4. Sunshine Cleaning (the same people that made Little Miss Sunshine, and it has Amy Adams and Emily Blunt! ohya, and Alan Arkin as well. teehee!)
5. The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button (not because of Brad Pitt, but i find the story rather fascinating)
6. Nightmare At The Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonians (well, the 1st movie was hilarious, and this has Amy Adams in it!!! yeah yeah, i know what ya think, again huh =.=")
7. Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen (i loved the 1st one!)

i bet there's still more great movies coming out. sadly, Malaysia doesn't show some of the movies mentioned above, dunno what's wrong with that Jabatan Perfileman or somthing. and now they're only showing Juno?!? man, that was 2 years ago!!! the movie is pretty decent though, i like it, it's funny, though i guess they might cut here cut there in the cinemas here. LOL!

light-hearted comedies

Watched Bedtime Stories with my brother and my good friend in 1 Utama. well, im not a fan of Adam Sandler actually, so i was quite reluctant at first. but hey, it turned out to be pretty good, still can't beat Enchanted =P but it was very hilarious and out of this world, especially Bugsy, the guinea pig. it's super cute and it laughs like Santa Claus. lol. and it has outrageous huge eyes... =.="

and then it was raining gumballs

then today, went to watch a movie with my cousin, called Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging. the movie turned out to be pretty good, and it was quite funny as well. =) it's like a love story, and some scenes were pretty silly. haha.

i've been going out too much lately and i really need to stop spending. =.=" Have a great year everyone!!
