Wall-E

Wall-E, the last robot on earth.

The story begins with Wall-E's life on planet Earth. In over 700 years, the adorable robot has became highly inquisitive and curious about the junks and rubbish on Earth. Everyday, after getting charged up by the sun (solar power), he decompresses trash and stacks them up till tall buildings of trash could be seen everywhere. His only friend is the cutest coakcroach i've ever seen, so slim and so cute. HAHA! Wall-E collects items that he finds interesting, and saving spare parts for himself from other inactive Wall-E units. and he would always watch the musical "Hello, Dolly!", especially the performances of "Put On Your Sunday Clothes", which he dances to when he found a round dish, and "It Only Takes A Moment" which teaches him emotion, especially by the act of holding hands, which he interprets as the act of showing love.

One day, a large spaceship lands on Earth, leaving a robot called EVE (Extraterrestial Vegetation Evaluator), who's directive is to detect living plants on Earth. Wall-E falls in love immediately with Eve (love at first sight) but is quite intimidated by her plasma cannon, but still tries several ways to win her heart. Although amused by Wall-E's antics and personality, Eve, however, does not manifest any romantic feelings towards Wall-E.

Wall-E found a bra.

and out of curiousity, wears it on his eyes. HAHA!

Wall-E then decides to show her the seedling plant he found and Eve detecting the plant, immediately stores it and goes into hibernation/standby mode. Wall-E then takes up the job of caring for her, protecting her, and still did not give up in winning her heart. He protected her during the rain, which he got electrocuted several times by the lightning. He covered her with a blanket when it snowed, and even took her out for a date, and held her hand, but she of course, she was not aware of it.

After that, Eve was retrieved by the same spaceship. Devastated, Wall-E clings onto the spaceship and he arrives at Axiom, where it had been the humans' dwelling for 700 years, supposedly used for 5 years only. On the way when Eve was sent to the main deck, Wall-E stayed by her side like a faithful companion. He encounters various interesting happenings, both concerning robots and humans, leading them to act outside their behaviour, but found it refreshing and new. but, alas, the plant was stolen. Eve was thought to have malfunctioned and was sent to the repair department with Wall-E. Eventually, they both got into trouble. Annoyed by Wall-E's actions, Eve decides to send him back to Earth by an escape pod, and he still thought that Eve was going back with him, his actions were just too touching.

Unknowingly to them, the plant was stolen by Auto's assistant, GO-4, (Auto is the ship's autopilot). GO-4 threw the plant into the escape pod, and Wall-E, seeing the situation, went to retrieve the plant, but was launched into space in the pod. Wall-E though, manages to escape when the pod self-destructed. EVE is so happy that she gives WALL-E a "kiss", an electronic discharge, and they share a dance around the Axiom.

The story ensues with Eve and Wall-E trying to save humanity because with the plant, humans could finally return to Earth. Along the way, Eve fell in love with Wall-E because she saw the security camera footage, which allowed Eve to see Wall-E doing romantic things for her. The ship's pilot, Captain McCrea, seeing the condition of earth through Eve's camera footage, decides to bring everyone back to earth, but is stopped by Auto. In the process of saving the world, Wall-E got electrocuted by Auto, and got crushed by the holo-detector.

However, the Captain managed to overpower Auto, by switching him of to manual, and brought the humans back to Earth. Eve then quickly replaced Wall-E's parts, but he lost his memory. Saddened and heartbroken by it, Eve tried desperately to revive Wall-E's memory, by showing the stuff he showed her, by holding his hands, and gives him a parting "kiss". Fortunately, the resulting spark reboots Wall-E's memory, and he recognizes Eve, and was so happy that he finally held hands with Eve. and so the humans and robots got to work together, restoring Earth to its' original state.

Wall-E and Eve dancing around in space.

This imaginative comedy adventure movie was pretty much dialogue-free, except when they got into Axiom which was full with humans. With the robot emitting adorable sounds, and the way Eve and Wall-E called each other's name, its enough to make you go awwww. The mastermind behind Wall-E's voice is Ben Burtt, who voiced R2-D2 in Star Wars and E.T. and Eve, voiced by Elissa Knight.

This movie is totally hilarious without even trying hard. Although Wall-E is comprised of just a yellow box and a pair of binocular eyes, the way he looks up in the sky, the way he goes soft when he sees Eve, the reflexion of the sky in his eyes is just enough to get your heart mesmerised. His pureness and innocence is just touching enough. The way he took care of Eve when she was deactivated with all the romantic stuff, it was all really adorable. and the funny friendship between Wall-E and M-O (a cleaning robot), so adorable! and besides, the nice nice super nice graphics, everything seemed so realistic. NICE!

Furthermore, there were sad and sombre parts. When Wall-E got shocked by Auto, and even though how much he hunger for Eve's affection by holding his hands, he selflessly pushed away her love, and wanted to save planet Earth and the human race instead. and when Eve was trying desperately to restore his memory, how he looked at Eve as she was a stranger, i almost wanted to cry. I mean, how can Wall-E just forget everything!!! The chasteness of their actions and expression were definitely flawless and prefect. This is yet another extraordinary Pixar production by spicing the movie up with a moving romance.

Of course other than the theme love, the other message of the movie is just as imperative as well. The movie shows how Earth looks like in the future, all hazy, all dirty, full with trash, rubbish, junk. How all homosapiens survived by living on a ship full with robots satisfying their everyday needs, without lifting even a finger.

The end result after 700 years? Obesity took over. The have even forgot how Earth looks like and they can't even walk! and have lost considerable bone mass. Humans became too dependable on robots and they became lazy, even to walk. This conveys the message of, we humans, must practice the act of recycling, like how Wall-E does, and reduce all activities that would pollute planet Earth and destroy the Earth's biosphere.

M-O and Wall-E

The humourous aspects in the movie just gets you laughing and smiling all the way. Really GREAT movie. and those sad moments were so tear-jerking. Wonderful really. Love this Pixar movie. nice!

Captain McCrea and Eve, joining forces to stop Auto from taking over the ship.

and Eve have several expressions by showing it with her eyes, and her actions, her hands especially. She and Wall-E together, just adorable!
